Eye lid repairs
Eye lid repair is performed to correct drooping upper lids or “puffy bags” below the eyes which can interfere with your vision, or make you look older and tired.

Phakic Intraocular lens implants
Phakic intraocular lens implants are used to treat a wide range of hyperopia and myopia. This straight forward procedure involves implanting an additional lens into the eye to treat large refractive errors.

Laser eye surgery
Laser eye surgery utilizes several types of lasers to treat conditions like diabetic and other retinal damage, glaucoma and opaque membranes. It is a relatively pain free procedure and it can be performed in a few minutes.

Laser vision correction
An increased awareness about vision correction surgery has led more people to seek ways of independence of optical devices like glasses and contact lenses. Refractive surgery eliminates or reduce the need for glasses or contact lenses.

Vision restoration
Implantable contact lens (ICL) are indicated for patients unsuitable for LASIK with extreme myopia (near sightedness), hyperopia (far sightedness) or astigmatism.

LASIK
LASIK stands for Laser-Assisted In Situ Keratomileusis. This procedure permanently changes the shape of the cornea, the clear covering of the front of the eye, using an excimer laser. LASIK is an innovative, quick, technically mature surgical procedure with an uncomplicated healing process. It is relatively pain free and takes only a few minutes to perform. It is carried out with an extremely precise computer controlled excimer laser.

INTACS
Intra corneal ring segments are semicircular pieces of rigid plastic/Perspex that are implanted within the cornea to treat mild forms or myopia with little or no astigmatism.

Speciality contact lenses
The Gulf Eye Center specializes in the fitting and management of contact lenses. In order to satisfy our patients’ needs we have access to an extensive and very comprehensive contact lens inventory. This includes Toric, Keratoconus and coloured contact lenses.

Strabismus (squint) correction
Strabismus correction may include wearing a patch over the unaffected eye, wearing special eyeglasses, or performing eye muscle exercises. Surgery may be required to realign the eye muscles if the strengthening techniques are inadequate.

Near Vision CK
Near Vision CK improves your ability to focus on near objects without reading glasses. It will improve your vision, allowing you to see clearly as you could ten years ago. It uses radio waves instead of a laser to treat the vision problem.

Keratoconus
Keratoconus is a degenerative non-inflammatory disorder of the eye in which structural changes within the cornea cause it to thin and change to a more conical shape than its normal gradual curve. Keratoconus can cause substantial distortion of vision, with multiple images, streaking and sensitivity to light all often reported by the patient. In most cases, corrective lenses are effective enough to allow the patient to continue to drive.

Corneal Collagen Cross Linking
Corneal Cross linking use carefully controlled amounts of ultra-violet light, applied for a fixed amount of time to stiffen the cornea. It stops the sagging and partially reverses the sagging to improve the vision

Corneal transplant
Corneal transplants replace the clear covering of the eye (cornea) that is damaged and no longer transparent, with donor tissue.
